Shan Shui Reboot: Re-Envisioning Landscape for a Changing World

Supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York, the China Institute is presenting a special exhibition "Shan Shui Reboot: Re-Envisioning Landscape for a Changing World", showcasing the recent work of seven established and emerging artists, including Lam Tung Pang from Hong Kong.
One of the most prominent artists of his generation, Lam was the first Chinese artist to win the Hunting Art Prize and is also one of the few Hong Kong artists to have exhibited at the Tate Modern. He is the recipient of the Best Artist award from the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards (2013), the Asian Cultural Council Fellowship (2012), the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Award (2009) and the Sovereign Asian Art Prize (2006).
The "Shan Shui Reboot" exhibition features Lam's awe-inspiring 40-foot-tall mountain-and-water landscape "Mountains de-bonding" and "The Dictionary of Landscape (West-coast Loop)", a visual compendium that encapsulates the essential terrain of his new life. Check out the exhibition, which runs through July 7, 2024.
