March 29, 2019 - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today its financial results for the 11 months ended February 28, 2019.

There was a deficit of HK$8.3 billion (US$1.06 billion) in the month of February. Expenditure for the 11-month period amounted to HK$465.5 billion (US$59.6 billion) and revenue HK$565.3 billion (US$72.4 billion), with the cumulative year-to-date surplus at HK$99.8 billion (US$12.7 billion).

A government spokesperson said that the expenditure in March is expected to exceed revenue, resulting in a deficit for the month and reducing the cumulative surplus.

The fiscal reserves stood at HK$1,202.7 billion (US$154.1 billion) as at February 28, 2019.
