Government announced the updated quarantine requirements for vaccinated close contacts of locally acquired COVID-19 cases
May 7, 2021 - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today announced the updated quarantine requirements for vaccinated close contacts of locally acquired COVID-19 cases. Taking into account the consensus interim recommendation by the Scientific Committee on Emerging and Zoonotic Diseases and the Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases (collectively the JSC) under the CHP, joined by the Chief Executive's expert advisory panel (EAP), published today, as well as the latest local situations of the epidemic, the Government decided to adopt a progressive manner to adjust the relevant quarantine requirements for close contacts as follows starting from today.

Foreign currency reserves at US$490.6 billion
May 7, 2021 - The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced today that the official foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong amounted to US$490.6 billion as at the end of April 2021, compared with US$491.4 billion at end-March 2021.

Hong Kong ranked third most preferred seat for arbitration globally
May 7, 2021 - The Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has welcomed the 2021 International Arbitration Survey released by Queen Mary University of London today in which Hong Kong is ranked the third most preferred seat for arbitration worldwide.

Government announces latest boarding and quarantine arrangements for persons arriving at Hong Kong under “vaccine bubble” concept
May 7, 2021 - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today that it will adjust the boarding, quarantine and testing arrangements for persons arriving at Hong Kong (including Hong Kong residents returning to Hong Kong) who have completed their COVID-19 vaccination course under the “vaccine bubble” concept. Subject to no significant change to the epidemic situation locally and in relevant overseas places, the relevant measures will be implemented on May 12 at 0.00am.

May 4, 2021 - The Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government released the latest figures on retail sales today.

Government further adjusts boarding and quarantine arrangements for persons arriving at Hong Kong
May 4, 2021 - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today the continued suspension of passenger flights from India, Nepal, Pakistan, and the Philippines, and the continued restriction on persons who have stayed in India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Brazil, and South Africa from boarding flights for Hong Kong from any place; and subject to no significant change to epidemic situation locally and in relevant overseas places, the lifting of the ban for persons who have stayed in Ireland and the United Kingdom (UK) on boarding for Hong Kong on May 7, to allow flights to resume from those places and for Hong Kong residents there to board for flights for Hong Kong, while these relevant persons would subject to the most stringent compulsory quarantine and testing arrangements upon arrival at Hong Kong.

Advance estimates on Gross Domestic Product for first quarter of 2021
May 3, 2021 - The Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government released today the advance estimates on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter of 2021.
